Encouraging someone gives them hope.
Today I want to specifically talk about encouraging women in their marriages and at home.
If someone comes up to you and starts talking bad about their husbands or any difficult situation going on at home, jumping right in to talk negative and fueling the fire is only going to make it worse. It is going to make them think that it’s okay to continue to talk bad about it.
Do not let unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
– Ephesians 4:29
Instead, we should encourage one another to rise out of a situation. Encourage each other to live the way God has asked us to live, forgiving each other just as he forgave us.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
– Ephesians 4:31-32
It is important that as women, we learn the roles of a wife according to God. We need to dig deep in the Bible and surround ourselves with women who build us up. We should strive to be the Proverbs 31 Wife.
(If you don’t know where to start, I highly recommend reading Wife School by Julie Gordon. It is an amazing Bible Study and I have saved the files for each week if you would like me to send them to you. Just leave your email below… and hey, if enough people are interested, maybe we can start our own online Bible Study group on this book!)
It doesn’t matter how old you are, there will always be women, younger and older, that look up to you. Encourage, give hope, be supportive, inspire, and always stay true to God’s word.
Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
